We regenerate native forests in Andean Patagonia affected by fires, in collaboration with local communities who take care of the forests.
The trees we raise we give to the farming communities, who tend them and live off what they produce. We work with the nurseries of Chubut province to build on skills and resources already rooted here, and we bring local people into collective plantings. Taking part means more than planting: people join training on Andean ecosystems and sustainable forest management, learning to care for the trees over time. The work becomes income, know-how and real hope for those who live these mountains.
Our goal is to return the Andean woods to what they were before the fire. That's why we plant only native species like the ciprés de la cordillera: trees suited to the local soil and climate, hardier against disease and drought, that defend biodiversity instead of disrupting it. Rooted on the slopes, they hold the soil against erosion, regulate the water cycle in a region where sources are shrinking, and absorb CO2. A degraded forest no longer offers these services: by regenerating it, we give balance back to Argentina's mountains and habitat back to the species that live there.
