We plant trees in social agricultural cooperatives to support disadvantaged people while promoting the adoption of sustainable agronomic practices.
The cooperatives we work with run social therapy, rehabilitation, reception and work inclusion: trees become work for people living in disadvantage. In Basilicata we fight labour exploitation, in Sicily we farm mafia-confiscated land through permaculture, in Lazio market gardening gives jobs to migrants and people with disabilities. We back self-financing through direct sales and processing the fruit: real income, not charity.
In Italy we don't reforest: we support low-impact farming that brings land back to life. Our trees improve soil quality, absorb CO2 and create habitat for local wildlife. In Liguria we restore terraces against hydrogeological instability, elsewhere we push back desertification and drought, in Milan we open new green spaces inside the city. Different species for different needs, so biodiversity becomes infrastructure again, not decoration.
